I decided to do this front cover because I wanted it to look personal and show off her personality. As it is called 'Dear Diary' I felt that the CD should look personal because diary are personal to people, especailly girls.
Back Cover
I wanted the back to look like the inside of the diary and have the song listed inside so that it means that all the songs are very personal to the artist.
I want to have two locations for my video. The first location I want to be in a nice town center in London. This is where I want the pedestrians to hold up the white boards. This would give the feel that they are ordinary people and sense of togetherness because they are in a community.
My second location I want it to be in a open field where my artist can do her performance. This would give the feeling that she is free spirited.
An artist that is similar to mine is Keri Hilson. Keri Hilson sings also speaks to her target audience about things that they might go through but Keri Hilson targets a smaller audience which is women while my artist target is the same target audience which is females. Keri Hilson sings to her target audience like she is one of their 'girlfriends' giving them advice about their problems. Similar to my artist who is talks to her target audience like she is friends with them and understand what they are going through. With Keri Hilson single breaking point.
Single Cover
On the single cover, you see her in normal clothes with the picture being black and white looking sad and a bit vulnerable. This shows that even with her 'bad chick' image she still has them same sad emotional feelings like everybody else. It shows that she is just like any other woman. This is similar to my artist because on the tour poster the image is in black and white and the artist is looking sad and vulnerable. The artist is too wearing normal clothes to seem like she is just like her target audience. The feature that makes the poster look like it is targeted for females is that the writing is pink and black which are feminine colours.
Video - Breaking Point
In Keri Hilson's video you see her gathered with a whole lot of women walking with her, which looks like all of the women are all united together as one. This shows that she thinks that all women should come together with her and unite to fight bad men, like a cult or protest. Similar to my artist but jet subject is broader. In my music videos it's about not being afraid of who you are and letting people know that they are not scared of the judgements. She also brought a sense of community by having people from the public in the video to feel a sense of connection cult. It could also look like a protest because of the white boards with the writing on which was as similar style to Bob Dylan.

When Ben Peter talk with my class and he taught us how many people are involved in making a music video. Before I thought that the director is the most important person when making films or videos but he taught me that everyone that is involved are as important as the director because without one of them it would be difficult to make the film or video. He also taught the difference between a music video and a short film. I found out that there is not that much difference between them except from the duration. He gave us videos to watch without the sound and tested us to see if we could guess what genre of music it might. We mostly got it wrong but it showed that we don't need to go by the stereotypical images to make a music video e.g. having half naked girls, gold chains, money and designer clothes to make a hip hop, rap video. This made me think outside the box for my own video. It made me want to make something different for my music video.
The video that he done with Wiley inspired me to do my music video.
Wiley's video
He said that doing Wiley's video was the cheapest video that he had done but it was really effective. He got random people to hold up a fake Ipad to there face. He also said that he only had ten minutes to spend with Wiley so he had to think out of the box to make a three minute music video especially when the artist is taking about nonsense. He said we shouldn't try and make a £10,000 music video and spend £10 on it because it wouldn't work. He then showed us some of his videos that he done and talked through how he had the ideas he came up with and he gave us his pre-post production from some of the his videos.
Ben Peters gave us some advice which was if we ever want to be involved in doing a music video we need to email a company who do music video to be a runner and then work beside someone who you want to end up being in your career. He said that you need to be passionate about doing the job and very flexible in days and hours and it could get you promoted until you get to be whet you want to be.
All in all I learnt so much from Ben Peters in only an hour and a half.
