After doing the initial ideas and research we decided that we wanted to do a horror movie. We had to do a storyboard of all the camera shots and angles. We then produced a treatment of how our opening was going to be. We created our preliminary task of someone opening the door, crossing the room, sitting on a chair next to someone else and then exchange conversation with them. It had to demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and 180-degree rule.
180 - degree rule
We then had to produce a recce of our film 'The Caretaker'. We had to choose three location we thought that best suited our film. At the end we found out that the locations that we filmed didn't suit the film but the camera shot and angle we thought worked also the location didn't suit the atmosphere of our movie and was too windy to film.

When it came to filming the actual film we decided to film it in a cemetery as we thought it would be the best location to film it.
The reason for this was that a cemetery is stereotypically scary, especially at night time so we thought it would make a scary atmosphere for the movie. We had a different story at first about three girls just came from the club and walking through the cemetery as a short cut to go home then one by one the Caretaker kidnaps them. We filmed the movie at night and got all the shots that we needed but when we uploaded it onto the computer we realised that the footage was far too dark. We was stuck on what to do and one of our characters wasn't available to film any other day so we decided to do another story with the rest of the characters.
We decided to get our inspiration from 'Cloverfield' and 'The Blair Witch Project' where the camera in the film was free hand. The main problem with our first film was that it was too dark so we filmed our second film in the day time, so when we edit it, we will make the footage black and white or a night vision effect. Because of filming was a problem and spending so much time filming and thinking of new ideas we only had one whole day to film our work to meet the deadline, so thats what we done. We still kept the same location but just a different story and filmed it in 24 hours. At the end we was proud of what we produced in the time that we had. We was also proud of our grade.
